I was born in 1965 and have lived in the Metro of Atlanta all of my life. I've painted for the better part of my life and I honestly cannot imagine life without creating. The peace of mind that comes from losing myself in the process is both enlivening and meditative.
I have not participated in any formal art education or instruction. Instead, I have learned art by observing the art of others, enjoying the art in life and by the simple need to create. I am rarely the master of my own painting - rather the painting itself leads the way. I've worked with a wide range of mediums and have found that although watercolors can be far less forgiving to work with, I tend to prefer the results.
Original paintings are typically by commission via word of mouth. I always begin with a pencil or watercolor drawing of the original photograph. I typically take several pictures of work in progress. I use these photos to study the work and communicate with the customer. This progression can be quite interesting its own right.
